Newton Place Surgery provides an Audiology service for patients aged over 18 who are registered with any practice within East Kent.
If you are suffering from hearing loss, which is not a result of a build-up of wax, the Audiologist will assess you hearing. During the assessment you will be asked to listen to different frequencies and press a button when you hear a sound.
Depending on the outcome of the hearing assessment, he can provide free NHS hearing aids. The hearing aids are worn behind the ear and are very easy to use. As part of the Audiology Service, we will also provide follow-up aftercare.
If you are suffering with hearing loss, please contact reception to make an appointment with a member of our nursing team. They will have a look in your ears, ask some questions to make sure you are suitable to be referred to the Audiologist and they can then refer directly into the service.
If you are not a patient at Newton Place Surgery, please contact your own GP practice and ask for a referral. We can be found on the eRS service.
